^_^
Credit well deserved, I think. =) Congratulations, to the both of you, for being respectful adults. There are not enough of you in this world, I'm afraid.

Hi, it feels strange to be responding to such a well-written, sentimental post in response to your Girls comment. I hope I'm not dampening the mood too much.
I think what I meant by the realism of Girls was how it portrays the absolute frenzy and anxiety of really having no clue what you're doing, and the kind of blind ambition that Hannah has for what she's doing no matter how misguided she objectively. I remember she said something to her parents along the lines of "You should be lucky that I don't do drugs", sort of displaying that sense of entitlement from family and peers, and forcing her parents to acknowledge her career path, which is quite a thing to say to your parents haha. I do remember thinking the same thing actually, when I was on my high horse about being this artist and livin' the artist life at school and beyond. I too forced my parents to see my side of things like Hannah did. I guess the only difference would be is that I didn't end up finishing art school and moved on to something more financially practical. So overall, it's a more artistic realism of emotion for me, but realism of realism?
I finished Season 2 actually and I think Donald Glover was the only person of color who had the most claim in the story and like you said, it was incredibly short-lived (haha black dildo. Hannah would say she was color-blind to it). 0_o It was kind of a weak effort at integrating more people of color, I was definitely expecting to see more fresh faces. I remember Booth's assistant who he fired, Soo-Jin, but other than that... hm. Haha. You brought up some really good points.
I still disagree that they don't interact with people of color at all though :0. I could point to some scenes where they do, even if they were extremely sub side characters. Maybe I'm not fully getting something, haha.
